The foundation of Rise FM is based on these scriptures:
Ephesians 2:4-6 says, “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ even when we were dead in our transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”
The music on RISE FM is focused on lifting praise to God. It’s the music you sing in church, played on the radio. You already know many of the artists we play, like Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, Phillips Craig and Dean, and Mercy Me. Others artists are pioneers in Christian music like Michael W. Smith and Twila Paris. Others are pioneers in the Praise and Worship music movement, like Vineyard Music, Maranatha, Don Moen, Paul Baloche, Hillsong, and Passion.
"The Radio Bug"
Production Director and host of "Beyond Belief", Scott Saunders, has served at MCS since 2010. He grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan, and graduated from Michigan State University in 1981. He got his first radio job in 1979, caught what he calls “the radio bug”, and has worked at radio stations in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Kentucky, and Ohio ever since.
Scott is an integral part of MCS' media/communications team and teaches Intro to Radio, Radio Production and Advanced Radio courses for high school students. He and his wife, Shari, have one daughter, Erin, and are the proud grandparents of granddaughter, Allison.
RISE FM is so much more than your everyday radio station! Students can learn about radio in small classes taught by instructors with many years of radio experience! Students learn the basics of announcing, production, and management.
RISE FM is a small part of a fully rounded media experience, with a Christian world view!
Our mission is to serve Christ by assisting students at MCS and listeners to RISE FM to grow in excellence spiritually, academically, socially, and physically, using the truth of God's Word as our guide.
We want to encourage our listeners in their walk with God and to praise Him at all times!
