The Insider
2025-2026 School Year Theme
Every Hour Matters. Every Life Changes.
Because what fills their minds shapes their hearts.
At Mansfield Christian, we know that the 1,000 hours your child spends in school each year are not just about lessons and grades. They are moments of shaping where friendships are formed, truth is taught, and faith is strengthened.
Just as Daniel stood firm in a culture that tried to shape him differently, we want our students to be rooted in God’s Word so they can live with conviction and courage. Every class, every chapel, and every conversation matters. That is why this theme is not just for students, it is for our entire school family.
Consider the story of the Simmering family. Tara Simmering (Bohland ’03) and her husband Jason are moving with their three children (Macy, Owen, and Addison) to Liverpool, England, to help grow a church. They sold their possessions and are following God’s call as a family, with their children excited to serve alongside them.
This is what we desire for every MCS student. Whatever God calls them to, they commit and follow. It may be countercultural like Daniel and his friends or a bold step of faith like the Simmering family moving overseas. At MCS, we strive each day to teach every student a biblical worldview, because we know that what fills their minds will shape their hearts and prepare them to change the world for Christ.
Events
First Day of School
The first day set the tone for the year as we welcomed 870 students, another record enrollment at MCS. From the smallest preschoolers holding backpacks almost as big as they are to seniors cherishing their final first day, the energy was contagious. Students were greeted by staff who prayed with them, encouraged them, and reminded them that they belong here.
We love that your child’s first steps onto campus are filled with joy, connection, and truth. Every smile, every prayer, and every friendship that began on that day matters because those moments are shaping their hearts for a lifetime.
Pig Roast
The annual MCS Pig Roast was a night to remember! From soccer games and pulled pork to tossing a football and sitting by the fire, it was a joy to see families, alumni, and friends of MCS gathered together. Thank you for being part of an evening filled with connection and community.
We invite you to enjoy the recap video and relive some of the best moments. Every hour we spend together strengthens the bond of our school family, and the Pig Roast continues to be one of the highlights of our 1,000 hours this year.

We are the FLAMES!
David and Riley
The Flames were on fire at the Seneca East Tiger Classic. Our students gave their very best and set personal records across the board. Congratulations to David, who placed 9th with a time of 17:34, and Riley, who finished in 1st place at 19:02. Their commitment and determination are a reflection of the effort we see every day in our athletes.
Updates
MCS is Now Phone-Free
This year, MCS is making the most of the 1,000 hours we have with students by becoming a phone-free campus during the school day. By removing distractions, we are creating space for deeper learning, stronger friendships, and a healthier school culture. We are excited about the positive impact this change will bring to our students and community.
I’m thrilled that MCS is prioritizing academics and student well-being by eliminating the use of cell phones during the school day. This allows students to focus their attention on what they are learning in the classroom and on in-person interaction with peers. – MCS Parent
